Restorative Justice Week 2006 Events

Tuesday, November 14 – Restorative Justice Week Launch

Location: Courthouse Atrium, 161 Elgin Street, Ottawa
Time: 4:45 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Please join us to hear Rev. Dr. Pierre Allard, who will discuss his journey as a victim of his brother’s murder and his spiritual work with prisoners and ex-offenders. Enjoy musical drama presentations and stay for some wine and light snacks.

Thursday, November 16 – Education and Restorative Justice: Building a Base for Healthy Safe Communities

Location: Sir Robert Borden High School, Auditorium, 131 Greenbank Road, Ottawa
Time: 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.

Creating a partnership between the education and Restorative Justice communities is a logical step towards building a more inclusive and respectful environment in which to support our youth. Join us to hear from speakers who will share their experience with various effective models, the lessons they have learned and their aspirations for further development.

Thursday, November 16 – Lanark County Community Justice Program (LCCJP) Annual General Meeting.

In honour of Restorative Justice Week, we are pleased to present a Public Orientation/Demonstration Forum with the participation of PDCI drama students, followed by refreshments and the business portion of the meeting. Memberships – available for a $5.00 annual fee.

Wednesday, November 22 – Interfaith Restorative Justice Event

Location: Ottawa Mosque, 251 North-western Avenue, Ottawa (near Scott and Holland)
Time: 7:00 p.m.

Please join us for a panel discussion featuring leaders of various faiths as they talk about Restorative Justice and more particularly conflict resolution and healing in their respective communities.
